Purchased by Sid and Ann Smith for 4,433 pounds in 1959, the cottage was lived in by the couple until 1987 and has since passed into the hands of the wider family who have gained enormous enjoyment from it as a holiday home for more than 20 years.

Family spokesman Ian Deller, a retired Telstra technician from Toowoomba, said 45 The Esplanade was filled with fond memories.

“It has been a very happy place…wonderful holiday times were spent there with the kids playing the in the park, swimming and kayaking,’’ Mr Deller said.
