Thanks Bryan
This is our second bill so we have little to compare.  The $65.48 Bill was not a lesser time period so probably a similar daily usage.  There is a jack pump to increase water pressure in the Signal Station, but it is only turned on when we occupy the building 6 hours/day twice a month (but not always - it doesn’t make a lot of difference)
Cheers

Hi Roger,

This has been forwarded to me by my Staff for review / consideration. The equipment that Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) use is of low power usage, essentially 2 radio repeaters that are powered from batteries, and those batteries are charged by mains supply. There is some minor items that are run directly from mains, however I also have serious doubts about 13kW usage a day based on our equipment. I am advised by one of our Technical Officers that is responsible for maintenance of this site that a water pump is running at the site. Has this been factored into the usage? I also note on the account that the previous account in August was for only $65.48, obviously something has happened in that timeframe that has caused the costs to escalate.  Do you have copies of previous accounts for comparison?

Hi Graham
Thanks for your offer to forward this to the responsible person
I am part of the community group who lease this facility from Sunshine Coast Council/Dept of Transport
Our aims are around the heritage aspects of the place and facilitating public visitation
We open the buildings twice a month and for booked tours
http://www.sunshinecoastplaces.com.au/caloundra/kings-beach/canberra-tce/3-canberra-tce---lighthouses/caloundra-lighthouses-website
We have recently taken responsibility for the electrical supply for the buildings
Our first first three month bill is attached
Our own usage is fairly minor - we have a iMac computer, make coffee, turn on the lights etc when open
and there are LED stair lights running 24/7 but these have very low wattage
There is also a (small) repeater for the lifesavers
and we do occasional maintenance
- obviously nothing like 13kWh a day
We wish to enter into an arrangement to equitably share the power costs
Please ring me on 5491 7654 or email to discuss further
Cheers
Roger Todd
